Pour rejoindre l'Espagne, une alternative au col des Moines et col du Somport consiste à prendre la direction de la vallée du Brousset et du col de Peyrelue. Un itinéraire emprunté dès le XVIe siècle par marchands et pèlerins, en marche vers Sallent de Gallego et la vallée de Tena, comme en témoignent les ruines d'une ancienne auberge rencontrée en chemin.
