Directions Church of Sainte-Foy de Morlaàs - A Romanesque gem in the heart of Morlaàs

About

  • English
    • Classified as a Historical Monument in 1841, the Sainte-Foy church, built in the heart of the historical capital of Béarn, features very beautiful sculpted capitals in the choir, including the decapitation of Saint Foy, and the "piton de Jaca", an architectural motif found on pilgrimage routes.

The Romanesque portal, remodeled in the 19th century, has original elements on display in the Tourist Office's exhibition hall. The remarkable original tympanum can be seen in the Chapel of Blessed Bernard. All ten stained-glass windows were created by Mauméjean (1869).
