- The Gîte de Lamarquette is a place of calm and relaxation in the middle of the countryside. It is located in the heart of Béarn, between the Pyrenees and the Basque Coast, near Pau, on the Chemin de Compostelle.
  
  It is the old sheepfold of a Bearn enclosure ; its restoration by us was carried out with the desire to combine the comfort and charm of the traditional building. 2 bedrooms are furnished with their own bathroom and sanitary facilities. The pool side room is equipped with a 180 cm bed or two 90 cm beds. The garden side bedroom has a 160 cm bed and direct access to the outside.
  
  You can enjoy a large garden in the middle of meadows with views of the Pyrenees. Around an oak tree over 200 years old, more than 50 old roses and many perennial plants flourish.
  
  Our 12 meter long salt pool will ensure you absolute relaxation in the heart of Béarn (only reserved for all our occupants of the Gîte).

  • LOW SEASON - 01/10 to 31/05 : 575 € / week
  • MID SEASON - June AND September : 720 € / week
  • HIGH SEASON - July AND August : 875 € / week
  • WEEKEND (EXCEPT OFF SEASON ) : € 220 - 2 nights minimum

Our stay went really well. The setting is very nice, quiet with a beautiful view of the Pyrenees. High quality and neat service. The renovation of this old sheepfold is a total success that combines old stones and modernism. The seal has been perfectly preserved. The cottage is 100% descriptive, a comprehensive library, rich in documentation on the region and its surroundings is at our disposal. The park and the pool contribute fully to the rest. A very warm welcome is reserved by the owners. Really deserve to give back. To recommend. August 2013.

superb warm and friendly welcome and the cottage is simply paradise. The photos are superb but the reality is still a step above, from the reception, to the service, equipment etc ... We have only one desire is to enjoy, a pure happiness. Thank you again to Mr and Mrs BARAIBAR !!!

We spent a few days in Lamarquette in mid-June 2014 for the second time in 2 years. The cottage is ideal because the house is old, but completely renovated with great taste and comfort (underfloor heating, I love, especially in the morning). The rooms and bathrooms are very clean and functional. The view of the Pyrenees, in good weather (we had a bit, but June was rotten), is superb - even from the pool. The owners are charming and warm; they guided us to Pau (including the typical local market and ideal for sourcing fresh produce of all kinds), and the church of Saint Girons (very beautiful frame, to visit). The dream for Parisians like us who want to find calm. Conquered by Bearn!
