The convent of Ossau stopover lodge

In the Ossau Valley, in the heart of the village of Louvie-Juzon, Jean-Marc and Mylène are happy to welcome you to the Couvent d'Ossau stopover gîte. The convent is an old building with a certain cachet, the users who come there feel at ease, at home. We want to safeguard the warm atmosphere that reigns there, (stone, wood), intended for small staff, to maintain a family dimension in living together.

For these reasons, we do not meet ERP standards and regulations in force for receiving people with reduced mobility.
However, we do our best to satisfy those who have a disability and wish to stay at the Couvent d'Ossau.

We are available, attentive and we know how to adapt to arrange places and spaces so that everyone can enjoy a quality welcome, specific to their personal characteristics.

The stopover “Le Couvent d'Ossau” is a resource place, made up of meetings, exchanges, in a sweet mix of diverse and varied individualities, from different backgrounds and ages, where everyone takes pleasure in relax after a day of effort or contemplation. This is the opportunity to share beautiful moments around the meal, on the terrace under the arbor of wisteria; to quench your thirst in the garden or by the fireplace.

ACCOMMODATION:

Both hikers and mountain lovers, the activity of the Gîte d'Étape corresponds to a choice of life, focused on the reception and accommodation of itinerant people or in stays, whether you are alone, as a couple with family or between friends, the capacity is 15 people. We offer dinner and breakfast.

The pilgrims of Saint-Jacques de Compostelle (way of the Pyrenean Piedmont) are also accommodated in half board, in full board or simply for the night.

Possibility of picking up the pilgrims on the way within a radius of 10 km.

The stopover gîte offers rooms in mini dormitories, for 2 to 5 people. Each bedroom has its own bathroom or private shower room, the 2 smallest of 2 people each share the same shower room / wc. Free WIFI.

The parental suite, room “Le Pourtalet”, presents the services of a guest room, with bathroom, shower and toilet, adjoining the bedroom.

Linen is available for washing and drying clothes and equipment, the reception room safely houses all your personal and bulky effects. So your bikes, skis, etc. are in a safe and protected place. A workshop dedicated to maintenance is available. The Couvent d'Ossau stopover has the “Accueil Vélo” label.

The stopover lodge is surrounded by greenery enclosed by a wall. A gate guarantees safe parking for motorcycles and cars.

Near the fireplace, the large living room gives a warm and intimate atmosphere. The opportunity to recharge your batteries, with a hot or cold drink, to read, discuss, play ... topo guides and board games are available. The Ossau valley offers us a wonderful playground for weekends and stays, out of the ordinary and sensational in any season.

CATERING:

During this time, Jean-Marc, concocts the meal with application in order to please and satisfy each of the guests, with a simple, generous cuisine made with local products.

The Couvent d'Ossau lights up and adorns the premises with a special atmosphere for the end of the year celebrations, your New Year's Eve projects are studied as closely as possible to your expectations so that this event is unique and leaves beautiful family memories. or with friends.

FOR YOUR INTERNSHIPS OR SEMINARS:

A 64 m² seminar room, for your conferences, team meetings, study days or other internships, is available for half-day or full-day dry hire, with exterior access, independent of the stopover lodge .

It can be rented with flexible services, by the day or by the week. Possibility of half board or full board. Access from inside the stopover lodge allows a comprehensive, tailor-made service including the seminar, catering and accommodation. We adapt our service to each of the projects, including the integration of a specific visit, to introduce employees and / or trainees to a particular site in the Ossau valley.

THE RICHES OF THE OSSAU VALLEY:

Ideally located, everything is nearby for hiking, GR 108, 78, not far from the GR10 and many paths including topographical guides are available at the gîte. You can also practice cycling, trail running, climbing, canyoning, caving, fishing, canoeing, swimming. The Pyrenees Natural Park offers us beautiful botanical outings where we can observe the fauna, raptors and the cliff with vultures, marmots, chamois ...

The Gourette and Artouste stations are 30 'away, for board sports which will delight young and old alike.

The valley of Ossau is beautiful in all seasons, our lodging is near remarkable sites, prestigious passes, magnificent plateaus. A wide variety of activities can satisfy different levels of autonomy, in the snow, in white water, in the air or on the hiking trails.

Among these prestigious sites, we can cite, among others, the Bénou plateau, that of Port Castet and their vast areas of pastoralism, the hikes to the peak of Escurets, the Lakes of Ayous, the lake of Aule, the peak from the south of Ossau, the passes of Marie-Blanque, Aubisque, Pourtalet, Soulor, the little train of Artouste, (the highest in Europe) .

Béarn is rich in its history, its gastronomy, its heritage. Cultural visits, shows, festivals, are numerous in Pau, Oloron Sainte-Marie.
