In the Ossau Valley, in the heart of the village of Louvie-Juzon , Jean-Marc and Mylène are happy to welcome you to the Couvent d'Ossau stopover lodge. The convent is an old building with a certain character, the users who come feel good there, like at home. We want to preserve the warm atmosphere that reigns there , (stone, wood), for small groups, to maintain a family dimension in living together.

For these reasons, we do not meet ERP standards and regulations in force for receiving people with reduced mobility.
However, we do our utmost to accommodate those with disabilities who wish to stay at the Couvent d'Ossau.

We are available, attentive and we know how to adapt to arrange places and spaces so that everyone can enjoy a quality welcome, specific to their personal characteristics.

The stopover gîte “Le Couvent d'Ossau” is a resource place, made of meetings, exchanges in a sweet mix of diverse and varied individualities, of different backgrounds and ages, where everyone takes pleasure in relaxing after a day of effort or contemplation. It is the opportunity to share beautiful moments around the meal, on the terrace under the wisteria arbor, to quench your thirst in the garden or by the fireplace.

ACCOMMODATION:

Both hikers and mountain lovers, the activity of the Gîte d'étape corresponds to a choice of life, focused on welcoming and accommodating people traveling or on stays, whether you are alone, as a couple, with family or friends, the capacity is 15 people. We offer you dinner and breakfast.

Pilgrims on the way to Santiago de Compostela (Pyrenean Piedmont route) are also welcomed with half-board, full-board or just for the night.

Possibility of picking up pilgrims on the way within a radius of 10 km.

The stopover gîte offers you rooms in mini dormitories, from 2 to 5 people. Each room has its own private bathroom or shower room, the 2 smaller ones, each for 2 people, share the same shower room/toilet. Free Wi-Fi.

The master suite, “Le Pourtalet” room, has the services of a guest room, with bathroom, shower and toilet, adjoining the room.

The laundry room is available for washing and drying clothes and equipment. The reception room safely houses all your personal and bulky items, so your bikes, skis, etc. are in a safe and protected place. A workshop dedicated to maintenance is available. The Couvent d'Ossau stopover lodge has the “Accueil vélo” label.

The stopover gîte is in a green setting enclosed by a wall. A gate guarantees safe parking for motorcycles and cars.

Near the fireplace, the large living room provides a warm and intimate atmosphere. The opportunity to recharge your batteries, with a hot or cold drink, to read, chat, play... Topo guides and board games are available.

The Ossau Valley offers us a wonderful playground for experiencing extraordinary and sensational weekends and stays in all seasons.

RESTORATION

Meanwhile, Jean-Marc carefully prepares the meal, with the aim of pleasing and satisfying each of the guests, with simple and generous cuisine made from local produce.

The Couvent d'Ossau lights up and enhances the premises with a special atmosphere for the end-of-year celebrations. Your New Year's Eve plans are studied as closely as possible to your expectations so that this event is unique and creates beautiful memories with family or friends.

FOR YOUR INTERNSHIPS OR SEMINARS

A 64 m² seminar room for your conferences, team meetings, study days or other training courses is available for dry rental by the half-day or the day, with outside access, independent of the stopover gîte.

It can be rented with flexible services, by the day or by the week. Possibility of half-board or full-board. Access from the inside of the stopover gîte allows for a comprehensive tailor-made service including the seminar, catering and accommodation.

We adapt our service to each project, including the integration of a specific visit, to introduce employees and/or trainees to a particular site in the Ossau Valley.

THE RICHES OF THE OSSAU VALLEY

Ideally located, everything is nearby for hiking, GR 108, 78, not far from the GR10 and many paths whose topoguides are available at the cottage. You can also practice cycling, trail running, climbing, canyoning, caving, fishing, canoeing, swimming. The Pyrenees Natural Park offers us beautiful botanical outings : you can observe the fauna, birds of prey and the cliff with vultures, marmots, chamois...

The Gourette and Artouste resorts are 30 minutes away for snow sports that will delight young and old alike.

The Ossau Valley is beautiful in all seasons. Our cottage is close to remarkable sites, prestigious passes, magnificent plateaus. A wide variety of activities can satisfy different levels of autonomy, in the snow, in white water, in the air or on hiking trails.

Among these prestigious sites, we can cite, among others, the Bénou plateau, that of Port Castet and their vast pastoral areas, the hikes to the Pic d'Escurets, the Ayous Lakes, the Aule Lake, the Pic du Midi d'Ossau, the Marie-Blanque, Aubisque, Pourtalet and Soulor passes, the little Artouste train (the highest in Europe).

THE ASSETS OF BÉARN

Béarn is rich in history, gastronomy and heritage. There are many cultural visits, shows and festivals in Pau and Oloron-Sainte-Marie. Jurançon tasting, Lourdes, the Betharam caves, the transhumance in July, the cheese festival in Laruns in October, the Eaux Bonnes and Eaux Chaudes thermal baths, fitness spas for care and relaxation... These are all destinations accessible within a 30 km radius.

Jean-Marc and Mylène like to provide information and suggest the hiking trails that seem to suit them best, even if it means making the difficulties more difficult as the days go by. The idea is that each stage is appreciated and provides pleasure.
