Lac de Castet is a dam lake on the Gave d'Ossau, in the town of Bielle. It is located in the heart of the Ossau Valley. This very preserved environment of forest and "saligue"; offers you an extraordinary setting for practicing all kinds of sports and leisure activities.
Did you know : "Saligue" is a term from Bearn which designates the floodable banks of the gaves. It encompasses a marshy environment and its specific vegetation, made up of willows, poplars, oaks, etc. The saligues run alongside the Gaves de Pau and Ossau, in particular.
The water reservoir hosts a water sports base during the summer. You can rent a kayak, a rowboat, or even a bicycle. The off-season lends itself more to hiking. A towpath and a Path of the Undergrowth allow you to walk along it and walk on the shores of the lake. Several other courses are available nearby.
