Between parks & pretty stones
The historic heart circuit, 700 m long, invites you to stroll through this authentic village with lovely views of the Pyrenees. Discover the history of Sauvagnon, beautiful Béarnaise houses, the Lechaud park and its beautiful rose garden, the Sainte Marie-Madeleine church and its Mauméjean stained glass windows, the passage of the oratory with a pretty well, the old presbytery with its beautiful stone walls with a hall adjoining a pretty fountain, overlooking a small park and its sundial...
During your walk, you will observe an exhibition of photos dating from 1900 to the present day on the walls of the houses, which partly retraces its history. It was produced thanks to the participation of the oldest families in the town: wedding photos, images of post-war classes, scenes of farms or life, as at the mythical Malabat café in restoration.
A little further, 1.5 km from the town hall, discover Bellehigue Park, a real green setting on the edge of the Luy de Béarn.
The walk is accessible to all, on foot, by bike and in a stroller, free of charge and all year round.
Ask for the detailed circuit brochure at the tourist information offices in Arzacq, Morlaàs and Lembeye.
