- Created in 1335, La Bastide de Gan suffered a terrible fire in the 16th century which destroyed a very large part of the town, sparing only a few dwellings of the time. The city is host to a large honey production company, the Michaud company, which produces more than half of French honey production. The vine is also an important economic activity of the town, which benefit from good arable land thanks to the proximity of the Neez.
