Built in 1373 by Gaston III of Foix-Béarn (known as "Gaston Fébus"), the Château de Morlanne is one of the finest examples of Fébusian architecture on the border between the Landes and Béarn regions. Its stone and brick construction makes it an atypical medieval fortress, showcasing the ingenious techniques of its Languedoc architect, Sicard de Lordat. A listed historical monument, the château houses over 200 classified or registered works of art.
Inside, five exhibition rooms showcase the restoration of the site as well as the collection of art objects bequeathed by Hélène and Raymond Ritter, the last private owners of the castle, who made it their home until 2003.
The castle has a park open to the public all year round, as well as the free audio tour "In the Time of Fébus". Access to the keep and the curtain wall.
