Visiting Montaner Castle with the family

Montaner Castle opens its gates to visitors, inviting them to discover its historic 14th-century building, an emblem of the local area. They will explore the grounds through a medieval-themed game trail that winds through the wooded grounds, the main courtyard, and part of the keep. This fun activity allows them to discover the history of the Béarnese prince Gaston Fébus and life in the Middle Ages through a series of engaging games in a medieval atmosphere.

Dominating the plains between Béarn and Bigorre, Montaner Castle is an emblem of Gaston Fébus's power. The new guided tour will allow you to explore its entire imposing keep, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Pyrenees mountain range from its summit. Discover with our passionate guides the fascinating life of the Béarnese prince and the secrets of his era.

And that's not all! In summer, medieval reenactments come to life, filling the castle with the sounds of knights, artisans, and troubadours. A unique immersion in history, to be shared with the whole family!

• Open daily from July 5th to November 2nd, 2025
• Opening hours: 10am to 7pm in July-August ; 10am to 6pm from September to November. Last entry 2 hours before closing.
