  We made a very cool circular route ascending towards the place where this lake and the refuge are located through a valley in a southerly direction (Gave du Bardet) and making the return through a parallel valley. According to the OSM map this route is called Tour du Lac d'Arlet asp68. The lake is very cool and it is worth going to the small pass that communicates with Spain (Portilla de Coda del Rey) to enjoy the views of the lake with the Pic du Midi d'Ossau in the background.

  Camp for 2 days. From the Aumet car park after Lhers, marked route. Counted about 3h15 for the climb, 900 m of elevation over 9 km, counted a little less than 100 m of elevation more while climbing to the Col d'Arlet. Nice hike to do for the day or in bivouac. Attention, refuge under renovation, no access and service possible throughout the 2022 season. For water supply, there is a pipe with a trickle of water located below the well after the refuge (on the right of the lake looking towards the Col d'Arlet).

  From the Péyresurgues car park to Arlet refuge. About two hours and ... Fair signs. You have to be careful. Not very steep climbs, we pass three valleys and many free animals, especially horses and lambs. When we reach the pond and shelter to touch, there is a heavenly vision. Recommended shelter, clean and friendly.
