The Pic du Midi d'Ossauis the most emblematic of the Pyrenean peaks. It overlooks the Ossau Valley from its 2884 meters.
To admire it, we recommend the ascent of the Pic du Pourtalet which faces it. But to understand its name, it is at the bottom of the valley and at noon that you have to look up. With such a height, it is obvious that its ascent is reserved for experienced hikers.
Some passages are difficult, like the Great Raillery of Pombie or the Kidney of Pombie , stony ravines. Chimneys also require you to be initiated into climbing to find good holds. Moreover, its east face is a paradise for climbing enthusiasts.
On the other hand, nature is preserved there and you will observe chamois, marmots and raptors which nest on its steep cliffs. Not to mention the dizzying panorama, for the bravest who reach the top!
