In the Navarrenx, Salies-de-Béarn is nicknamed "The Venice of Béarn". You are in the heart of Béarn des Gaves, in this landscape, shaped by the Gave d'Oloron.
This country of water offers you bucolic walks, in particular on the Green Lane, an old railway line, redeveloped over 16 km, to the delight of walkers. It is also a famous spa resort and you can relax in the Thermes de Saliès-de-Béarn , during a massage or a treatment, and why not with salt!
Indeed, the city has a geological curiosity, which it has exploited since the dawn of time: spring salt. An underground source of the Pyrenees passes into the depths of the earth.
But what is unusual is that it is 10 times saltier than sea water! The salt it contains is simply recovered after evaporation. It tastes and has incredible properties!
