The Gave de Pau takes its source at the Cirque de Gavarnie and joins the Gave d'Oloron to form the Gaves gathered at Peyrehorade. From the Spanish border to the Landes lands, it descends the Pyrenean valleys , crosses the Pays de Nay , fertilizes the vineyards of Madiran and Jurançon , and crosses the Vic-Bilh .
It stretches over three departments and borders large cities such as Pau, Lourdes, Orthez ... In Lourdes, it is one of those sources that are said to be miraculous!

Did you know : “ Saligues ”, in Béarnais, designate the wetlands around the gaves. La saligue is a specific biotope, made up of marshy meadows, dotted with groves of willows, poplars ... You will observe many birds, Cistude turtles and otters.
