Directions Conchez-de-Béarn - A village steeped in history and Béarnese charm

About

  • English
    • It was in the 18th century that Conchez-de-Béarn experienced its golden age. Several noble and bourgeois families settled in the town as summer residences. On the ruins of old houses, they built the beautiful Béarnaise homes with elegant roofs that we see today. Wealthy merchants, doctors, surgeons, royal notaries, a lay abbot, and two noble families transformed the former fortified village into a prestigious residential area. The town has retained all the charm of this illustrious past.
A circuit of approximately 300 m reveals the history of the town, its houses and their architecture, concluding with a visit to the Saint-Germain church dating from 1770.
Self-guided tour, accessible to all, all year round. Free.

Ask for the detailed circuit brochure at the tourist information offices in Lembeye, Arzacq and Morlaàs.
