Conchez-de-Béarn A village of history and Béarnese charm

Conchez-de-Béarn experienced its heyday in the 18th century. Several noble and bourgeois families settled in the village to take up their summer quarters. On the remains of the old houses, they built the beautiful Béarnese residences with elegant roofs that we see today. Wealthy merchants, doctors, surgeons, royal notaries, a lay abbot, and two noble families transformed the former "castet" into a prestigious residential location. The village has retained all the charm of this prestigious past.
A circuit of approximately 300 m reveals the history of the village, that of its houses and their architecture, to conclude with a visit to the Saint-Germain church dating from 1770.
