- A MEDIEVAL AND HISTORICAL THEME PARK AT MONTANER CASTLE
  Montaner Castle invites you to explore its wooded grounds through a fun and historical trail. A great idea for a family outing where parents and children can play all sorts of games together, both outdoors and inside the castle.
  During their adventure, players will wander through meadows, the forest, the main courtyard, and part of the medieval dungeon. A leisure activity that will keep children and parents occupied, discovering life in the Middle Ages and the Béarn prince Gaston Fébus.
  
  An activity for families between Béarn and the Hautes-Pyrénées
  Montaner Castle welcomes you for a day of family adventure less than 1 hour from Pau, Tarbes and Lourdes, with its medieval games trail. And for an immersion in the Middle Ages, players can enjoy medieval activities during the months of July and August. Knight combat, archery, axe throwing, medieval songs and dances... and even jumping into the void between the trees! A colorful program awaits young and old this summer at Montaner Castle.
  
  A historic castle at the foot of the Pyrenees
  In addition to the game trail and summer activities, players can round off their day with guided tours of the impressive dungeon. After climbing the spiral staircases and exploring all the floors with our passionate guides, visitors will reach the roof terrace with its exceptional view of the Pyrenees mountain range.

  - Open daily from July 5 to November 2, 2025
  - Opening hours: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in July and August ; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from September to November . Last admission 2 hours before closing.

  - Child (4 to 12 years inclusive) : 13 €
  - Under 4 years: free
  Guided tours:
  - Adult (+12 years) : €9
  - Child (4 to 12 years inclusive): €7

Visited at the end of August. Prices were exorbitant (€16 + €6 for the dungeon visit)... outrageous when you come with a family of four children. The "fun trail" was anything but fun! Only the guided tour by Manon was truly excellent and engaging... you can tell she loves the castle and her job. I think it's a shame there weren't any activities in the castle during August.

Beautiful castle, well worth a visit. Unfortunately for us, the site has recently closed to visitors. Only for a short time. Check their website soon. But we'll be back...
