Directions Pujalet Farm - Savor the authentic taste of artisanal jams from the heart of the Pyrenees

About

  • English
    • The Pujalet Farm is a family farm that has been in operation for many generations. It is located in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, in the Ossau Valley, in the small village of Aste-Béon, usually known for its walks and its Vulture Cliff Museum.

We are two partners: Patrick the father, and Noémie the daughter who recently settled on the farm.

We raise 350 ewes, and thanks to their milk, we make raw milk cheeses, a typical product of our Ossau Valley, which has earned us a Gold Medal in Paris in 2019 ! They are salted by hand during the first four days, and we have preserved this ancestral method, which gives them a subtle and fragrant flavor. They are then matured and carefully cared for for four to seven months in our salting rooms on the farm.

Since November 2020, and after numerous trials, we have launched the production of sheep's milk jam. A caramelized and sweet taste that complements your soft cheeses, natural yogurts, pancakes or waffles, or simply a good slice of bread.

Our sheep graze daily for 8 to 9 months of the year in the natural meadows surrounding the farm. From June until September, they are moved to the summer pastures of Aste-Béon. This pasture is easily accessible for walks, so feel free to go and visit them!

We also have a small herd of suckler cows, raised for meat production. They too graze on the same summer pasture as the sheep, which allows us to easily keep an eye on everyone throughout the summer. This secondary operation allows us to make better use of the grass and lower-quality forage, reserving the best for the sheep and thus producing flavorful cheeses.

We sell all our produce directly at our farm shop, where you can taste our products and visit the sheepfold. We also offer canned products such as veal axoa, veal blanquette, and veal marengo. You can find us at the Laruns market on Saturday mornings, and also on Thursday evenings in July and August. To diversify our selection and satisfy everyone's tastes, we also offer cow's milk and mixed-milk cheeses from another producer in the valley. Furthermore, we maintain a sufficient stock of cheeses to ensure sales throughout the year. For your travels, transport, or as gifts, we can vacuum-seal your cheeses.

We also ship our cheeses directly from the farm, and we regularly deliver to Langon (33). Please feel free to contact us for pricing and delivery details.
