    • In the Pyrénées-Atlantiques in the heart of the territory of Luys en Béarn, the small village of Lalonquette has been home to an exceptional archaeological site for more than fifteen centuries: a Gallo-Roman villa.

Located in North Béarn in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, the Gallo-Roman museum retraces the history of a Gallo-Roman rural establishment which was born and developed from the 1st to the 5th century AD. Based on an elaborate museography featuring the restored mosaics, it offers, thanks to a playful approach, the discovery of the specificities of the villa around various themes (daily life, aristocracy, agriculture, architecture, etc.) illustrated by the presentation of collections.

Complementary to the visit to the museum, the interpretation trail and the site of the Gallo-Roman villa of Lalonquette are freely accessible 7 days a week. To accompany your discovery, audioguides are available for free download on smartphones via the izi.TRAVEL application.

Many educational events and activities are offered throughout the year. Find all the cultural programming on the museum's website: www.musee-claracq.com

Magnificent museum, very well arranged and presented. It describes life in this villa in Roman times very well, and the presentations, explanations and anecdotes given by the museum staff are fascinating. A must see when you appreciate the Roman era, or simply out of curiosity. And don't forget to visit the remains of the Villa on the neighboring site!

Pleasant experience during the day and night at the museum. Lucas our guide for the visit is at the top with a touch of humor and passion for what he does. The museum is easy to access, parking nearby. The different rooms of the museum are well constituted with elements of understanding which complement that of the guide (real ancient object or reconstituted models of the display....) in short a nice museum the guided tour is a plus for those who want but a little long for children. Different workshops are offered throughout the year... what more can we say except to come and see for yourself, learn and discover the history of this well-established archaeological site... Good visit Thanks again to the team for the reservation by telephone, the visit and the workshop offered today on the manufacture of oil lamps.
