In the Pyrénées-Atlantiques in the heart of the territory of Luys en Béarn, the small village of Lalonquette has been home to an exceptional archaeological site for more than fifteen centuries: a Gallo-Roman villa.
Located in North Béarn in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques , the Gallo-Roman museum retraces the history of a Gallo-Roman rural establishment which was born and developed from the 1st to the 5th century AD. Based on an elaborate museography featuring the restored mosaics, it offers, thanks to a playful approach, the discovery of the specificities of the villa around various themes (daily life, aristocracy, agriculture, architecture, etc.) illustrated by the presentation of collections.Complementary to the visit to the museum, the interpretation trail and the site of the Gallo-Roman villa of Lalonquette are freely accessible 7 days a week.
