The Maison Carrée, a Renaissance mansion, takes you on a journey through time. Stroll through the corridors and covered galleries of another era, contemplate the harmony of the volumes, discover the history of the region and marvel at the temporary exhibitions.
The new tour on the second floor unveils the history of the house from the 18th century to the present day, as well as that of the Bastide de Nay and the bastides of Béarn, not forgetting the importance of the textile and furniture industry from the end of the 18th century to the present day.
In 2025, the Maison Carrée will honor an emblematic figure: Jean Barthet. A native of Nay, this milliner enjoyed an exceptional career, dressing some of the world's greatest celebrities in his creations. Get ready for a unique exhibition of hats and photos, featuring never-before-seen shots of numerous celebrities wearing Jean Barthet's magnificent headgear.
