    • This charming village is an essential stopover during your visit to Béarn des Gaves. Located on a rocky outcrop on the way to Saint Jacques, Sauveterre de Béarn was once an ideal place to watch over Navarre, Gascony and neighboring Soule. You will enjoy strolling through the alleys, taking the central square at the top of the town as your starting point, opposite the Tourist Office. First, take advantage of the beautiful view that awaits you towards the Pyrenean foothills, then discover the imposing St André church from the end of the 12th century. Beautiful view overlooking the gave and the legendary bridge, built in the 13th century on the model of that of Orthez. During your visit of the old streets you will also discover the Monréal Tower, from the 12th arrondissement, imposing with its 5 levels. The Tour Monréal has become a museum since 2016, it offers a playful museography through a magnificent model (a reconstruction of the city from the 13th to the 16th century) previously exhibited in the chapel of Sunarth.
