About

  • English
    • Come and stroll through this charming Béarn town, situated on the banks of the Ousse River. From its ancient past, a 13th-century tower, part of the ramparts, and the 14th-century Gothic church still remain. In the Place Du Barry stands a bronze goose, an advanced sentinel of Béarn, once tasked with warning the Béarn towns of invaders from Bigorre. The town's coat of arms even bears a Latin motto: "Melior vigilentia somno" (Better to be vigilant than to sleep).

A 2 km circuit "Pontacq, a heritage along the water" takes you to discover the lovely heritage of Pontacq.
Self-guided tour, accessible to all, all year round. Free.

Ask for the detailed circuit brochure at the tourist information offices in Arzacq, Morlaàs and Lembeye.
